CCP just added some 500k sp to new players, ganking can't be done against <30day olds doing whatever mission, corps can toggle awoxing, and now there's talk of buying and selling sp which would benefit lower sp players the most.
I'm going to get to my suggestion, but first a backstory with nods to previous NPE changes. I was introduced to EvE by a friend who startes at the end of 2008. I played a bit with him on his first alt. I started the in space tutorial. The computer lady told me to talk to this agent and get a mission. I talked to the agent and he said "I got nothing for you." Tutorial rambled on about "Now that you have a mission..." I took off the headset and threw my friend a -.- I flew around in a catalyst. I blew up an npc. I enjoyed it, but he became hopelessly addicted. He would tell me about what he was up to with his corp: huge fleets, hair raising escapes, crippling losses, typical EvE fair. Eventually, I joined him. I subbed an account. This was just after Apocrypha in 2009 and the release of the skill queue. I got to work training the learning skills. CCP released another NPE tailored package removing learning skills and the race-attribute system. I decided later that I'd had enough eve'ing and handed the keys to my account over to my friend. I left EvE. Around three years later, I made this account and character. I sold a plex for funds, plugged +4s into my noggin and remapped for my evemon plan. After a couple of months, CCP released tiericide. The most heavily impacted ships were the tech 1 frigates and cruisers. Ships with little to no ability to perform were vastly improved. Very good move by CCP.
I never expected this game to cater to me. If you think about it, neither did you. Here we both are. I won't say I haven't personally benefitted from the NPE changes. They're kinda nice, but I subbed to play EvE like my friend had. I've done a few EvE's, and I plan to do more. I'd still be here with or without tiericide, learning skills, and low starting sp.
My suggestion: we need to ease up on helping-newer-players changes. I didn't sub because I heard EvE was getting easier for new players. Neither did you. Let's let the dust settle a bit. Let's do some tweaking in the balance area. Let's get people excited about struggling for sovereignty. Let 's let the game keep doing it's own recruiting.
